"Last Vegas" Movie Review

"Last Vegas" is supposed to be a comedy about four elderly friends that have been friends since they have been 6.  The main characters, Archie (Morgan Freeman), Paddy (Robert De Niro), and Sam (Kevin Kline) find out that their other best friend Billy (Michael Douglas) is getting married and want to spend a weekend together in Vegas reliving the glory days.

It seemed as if the director was trying to make the elderly version of "The Hangover."  However "Last Vegas" was not as funny at all.  What was supposed to be a comedy was actually a depressing movie about what happens when people get old.  A lot of the time the characters were restricted to the activities they could participate in because of their health and physical conditions.

When the four were able to find something fun they could all do, they ended up arguing and being mad at each other.  The movie really never took off either.  The whole time watching was waiting for something exciting to happen.  When I think of four old friends spending a weekend in Vegas, I think of them tearing the city down.  Instead, they spent the whole time fighting with each other about things that happened in the past.

The movie was extremely bland, boring, and nothing exciting every happened.  It was not a comedy in any way shape or form.  There were a few moments when the crowd giggled but other than that the rest of the time was spent feeling bad for the characters.

Do not waste your money on this movie.  There are others out there that would be a way better choice.
